Finding Cooper’s Lake Campground and the Rendezvous

Well, we’re in the western part of PA of course, between the small towns of Slippery Rock to the north, and Portersville to the south, and adjacent to Interstate 79. This is about one hour north of Pittsburgh, one and one half hours south of Erie, and 20 or so miles from the Ohio border. Using exit 99 (for US Route 422) of I-79 as a reference point, proceed west on 422 just 1/2 mile or so to Currie Rd. coming in on the north side (2nd light). You will see a sign there for McClymond’s Supply, and also for the 422 Auto Auction – and, a new-this-year Sunoco truck stop. There will also be a small sign for the Rendezvous. Turn north onto Currie Rd and follow for 1 mile to the Cooper’s entrance on your right. Please stop at the campground store first to check in. It is the building on the right just around the circle. A Rendezvous sign will help point it out to you. If the store is closed, no worries. Just come on down to the Rendezvous’ location – you can deal with the paperwork later.

Cooper’s is a large place (800 acres), and the Rendezvous is conducted in just a small corner of it. The campground roads are one-way, so do pay attention to that. From the store follow a series of Rendezvous signs through the campground down to the pond.

For GPS purposes, Cooper’s address is 205 Currie Rd, Slippery Rock PA
